MICROSYSTEMS UNIVERSITY SERVICE

Microsystems - new training service
Please, follow the link below for viewing abstracts of the training material
Training Material

Microsystems technology can be generally defined as 'the development and integration of sensors, actuators and other three dimensional structures on the scale of, and using the fabrication techniques of, integrated microelectronics'. It is a technology that continues to grow and one that is finding new applications in a diverse and growing number of areas, including the automotive, aerospace and medical sectors.

EuroTraining is launching an innovative training initiative to help the development of course modules in microsystems (MST) technology. The initiative is inviting European universities, academic organisations and experts involved in microsystems research and education to work alongside one another to create their own first-rate route to an MST degree course.

Known as the EuroTraining Microsystems University Service, the new programme will encourage those already working on a degree course (or indeed those wishing to establish one) to combine competences, knowledge and knowhow and to share educational resources. These might include laboratory and training facilities and newly created or updated lectures and exercise material. All components should be of a suitably high standard to be fully integrated with MST Masters programmes in Europe.

Universities that become a member of the Microsystems University Service will have the opportunity to select from the available educational components and include these in their own university programmes.

Course / module components - information for training service members
Training material submitted to the Microsystems University Service may cover all aspects of the microsystems technology, at basic and advanced levels. Courses that include hands-on or laboratory exercises have greater value to the student. EuroTraining is also looking to the Microsystems University Service to establish a series of preparatory training courses in MST that may be integrated with existing academic engineering programmes at colleges and universities. The preparatory courses should include the mathematics, chemistry and mechanics of microsystems technologies. These will augment the existing knowledge base of students wishing to specialise in MST. The Microsystems University Service seeks course components, lectures, exercises and laboratory facilities.

EuroTraining Course Directory
EuroTraining is offering the structure for this service within this course directory. It contains a special section that host the MST training material. Access is restricted to authorised members of the training service. This section is protected by username and password authentication.

If you would like more information, or wish to enrol as a member of the Microsystems University Service, you are kindly invited to contact the EuroTraining office at ecdadmin@eurotraining.net
